However, for a general reference sizes displayed are considered the average growth weight of the Maine coon cat. Many Maine Coons can grow to weights upwards of 35 lbs. The Maine coon grows for 5 years consecutively before reaching their full size and grandeur. Their large manes tufted around their necks come in fully at year 2. Maine Coon coats can also go through seasonal changes so keep in mind that a cat in hot weather will lose it’s thick mane and a cat in cooler weather will put on a big, beautiful coat.
